1. Hold the brackets up in the mounting location and mark the location of the mounting holes .
2. Use a level and tape measure to ensure the brackets are lined up properly .
3. Drill pilot holes in the locations marked in the previous steps with the appropriate drill bit for your mounting hardware .
4. Attach the brackets to the wall with the mounting hardware .
5. If desired, place shelf on brackets . For additional security , insert screws through the brackets into the bottom of the shelf .
